In 1990 for my personal pleasure, I began to write a novel entitled BLUE LADY. It is a fantasy about events that could have occurred on any one of a thousand or more sailboats that have raced biennially from Galveston to Veracruz over the last 40 years. I have been fortunate to have successfully sailed in a number of these races. BLUE LADY records some of the joys and frustrations experienced by thousands of men and women privileged to participate in this race. All of the characters and events described in BLUE LADY are fictitious, but the boat and the race are real.
